Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Maison Perrin collects when you visit maisonperrin.com or buy from us, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We've tried to write it in plain language. If anything is unclear, write to us at hello@maisonperrin.com.

Effective date: April 29, 2026

Information we collect

When you visit, browse, or buy from us, we collect the following:

  • Information you give us directly — your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number (if provided), and payment information when you place an order. If you contact us by form or email, we receive whatever you choose to share.
  • Information collected automatically — when you browse the site, we receive your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you view, the items you look at, and how you arrived (for example, the search term or referring site). This is standard for any modern website.
  • Information from third parties — if you sign in or interact with us through another platform (a payment processor, a social account, a delivery carrier), we may receive limited information from them to complete the transaction or follow up with you.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to fulfill your purchases, communicate with you, improve our service, and refine the way the site works.

To fulfill your order. This includes processing payment, preparing and shipping your purchase, and following up by email about its status. We may also reach out by email or post if there is a question about an order, a delay you should know about, or a delivery confirmation worth flagging.

To send you marketing communications. If you've opted in, we'll occasionally email you about new arrivals, restocks, journal pieces, and seasonal collections we think you'll appreciate. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time with a single click.

To improve our service. We use analytics tools to understand how the site is used — which pages visitors find, which collections resonate, where the experience could be cleaner — so that we can keep refining what we offer. You can decline non-essential analytics through the cookie banner at the bottom of the site, or by visiting Cookie preferences in the footer at any time.

Cookies and similar technologies

A cookie is a small file stored in your browser that helps a website remember things about your visit. We use cookies for two reasons:

  • Essential cookies keep the site functional — your cart, your session, your language preference, your consent choice. These cannot be disabled if you want the site to work.
  • Analytics and marketing cookies help us measure how the site is used and let us tailor email follow-ups for visitors who have opted in. These are loaded only after you accept through the cookie banner. You can withdraw your consent at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer; doing so will stop new analytics events from being recorded by your browser.

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of trusted third-party services to run the storefront. Each one receives only the information needed for the service it provides:

  • Shopify — powers our storefront, checkout, and order management. Shopify processes order, account, and payment information on our behalf.
  • Our payment processors (managed through Shopify Checkout) — receive your payment details to authorize and settle transactions. We do not store full card numbers ourselves.
  • Shipping carriers — receive your name and shipping address so they can deliver your order.
  • Klaviyo — sends our marketing and transactional emails and helps us understand which messages are useful. If you opt in to marketing, your email and engagement data are stored there.
  • Google Analytics (GA4) — provides aggregate site analytics. We use Google's Consent Mode so that nothing is recorded until you accept through the cookie banner.
  • Judge.me — hosts product reviews. If you submit a review, your name (or a chosen display name), rating, and review content are stored with Judge.me and shown publicly on the relevant product page.

We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration.

Information security

We take the protection of your personal information seriously and have measures in place to guard against loss, misuse, alteration, and unauthorized access. Payment details are encrypted in transit whenever they are received or transferred through our site. No internet transmission is ever fully without risk, but we do our part to keep your information safe and to work with vendors who do the same.

International transfers

Maison Perrin operates from the United States, and the third-party services listed above are mostly based in the United States. If you visit or order from outside the U.S. — including from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland — your information will be transferred to and processed in countries whose data protection laws may differ from those in your home country. Where required, our service providers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or other approved transfer mechanisms to protect your data.

How long we keep your information

You can request deletion of your account, or any personal information we hold about you, by writing to us at hello@maisonperrin.com. Once we receive your request, we will begin the process of removing your information from our active systems.

We may, however, retain certain information for longer when we are legally required to do so or have a legitimate operational reason. For example:

  • Security, fraud, and abuse prevention — to protect you, our other customers, and Maison Perrin from fraud, misuse, or unauthorized access.
  • Financial recordkeeping — payment records are retained for the periods required by tax, accounting, anti-money-laundering, and other financial regulations.
  • Legal and regulatory compliance — to meet applicable laws, respond to lawful requests, or enforce our terms of service, including the investigation of potential violations.
  • Direct correspondence — when you have reached out by email or contact form, we may keep a record of that exchange for reasonable continuity of support.

Please also note that information deleted from our active systems may persist in our backups, and in those of third-party providers we rely on, for a reasonable interval before being fully purged.

Your rights

You have the following rights over the personal information we hold about you. To exercise any of them, please email hello@maisonperrin.com — we'll respond within thirty days.

  • Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction — ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate.
  • Deletion — ask us to delete your information, subject to the retention exceptions above.
  • Portability — receive a copy of your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
  • Withdrawal of consent — withdraw consent for marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email, and withdraw consent for analytics or marketing cookies via Cookie preferences in the footer.
  • Objection and restriction — object to, or ask us to limit, certain processing of your information.

California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what categories of personal information we collect and disclose, and the right to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. As noted above, we do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration.

EU, UK, and Swiss residents have rights under the GDPR and equivalent laws. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you feel your rights have not been respected.

Children's privacy

Maison Perrin is not directed at children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

Updates to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as our practices change or as required by law. When we make a material change, we will update the Effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through a notice on the site.

Questions

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your personal information, please write to us at hello@maisonperrin.com and we'll be happy to answer.
