Chinensis Pumila is among the last Astilbes to bloom, and it puts on one heck of a grand finale! This clump-forming perennial makes wonderful groundcover, filling sheltered outdoor spaces with finely cut foliage and spiky lavender flowers. Not to mention, the lovely lilac blossoms tend to be more sun-resistant and will lure in butterflies for miles!
As one of the later blooming varieties, this purple powerhouse is excellent for extending the season and ensuring shady gardens stay colorful for weeks during the summer. Plus, you can further keep the flowers coming by removing faded blooms. Enjoy!
