Vintage Rugs

Every rug here is one of a kind. Hand-knotted, decades old, sourced directly from Old New House in Katonah, New York. Old New House was built by Melissa and Dave Dilmaghani. Dave is a fourth-generation rug dealer on his mother's side and fifth on his father's — his family has been designing, importing, and selling hand-knotted carpets since the mid-1800s. Melissa photographs every rug herself and has done so for over twelve years. Dave dates and describes each piece personally. The edit covers Persian, Oushak, Hamadan, Malayer, Heriz, Karaja, and village tribal pieces. Some are antique, some vintage, some heavily distressed, others in cleaner condition. Every listing spells out age, dimensions, colors, and any wear or repair, so there are no surprises. Sizes run from small scatter rugs to large room formats and runners. Pick by size, palette, or the pattern that pulls you in. For questions on a specific piece, we can route them straight to the people who dated and photographed it.
