Dahlia Poeme is a dark leafed variety highly prized for its deep, dark bronzed foliage - so dramatic in the summer garden. Some dahlia aficionados consider the flower as secondary to the dark leaves - but with Poeme, it is hard to believe! Rosy tinged petals of salmon and apricot surround a dark bronze eye that picks up the dark color of the leaves for an extraordinary contrast and balance. Free flowering, Poeme will provide many bouquets for you summer through fall. Be sure to cut back spent blooms to encourage even more to develop. Like other "open" formed dahlias, the blooms of Poeme are very attractive to butterflies and other pollinators.
