- — Pill-shaped handmade ceramic body
- — Round glass globe, G9 LED bulb
- — 3.5 inches across, 5.5 inches deep
- — Kiln-fired in Milwaukee, four glazes
The minimalist ceramic wall sconce pairs a pill-shaped handmade ceramic body with a round glass globe. It casts a soft, even pool of light without hardware on show.
The form is stripped to its essentials. A smooth ceramic body, a clean round globe, and a mounting plate that sits flush against the wall. The matte ceramic absorbs light rather than reflects it. You get a soft mood in any room that needs light without clutter.
The Iota Sconce by Misewell is made by hand in a Milwaukee ceramics studio. Each piece is kiln-fired then finished in one of four glazes: Black, Speckle, White Matte, or Vermilion. Custom glazes are available on request. The sconce measures 3.5 inches across and 5.5 inches deep, compact enough for hallways and small bedrooms. A G9 LED bulb sits inside the round glass globe. Choose plug-in with a cord and on/off switch, or hardwire for a cleaner install. Both mount the same way.
Install a pair flanking a bathroom mirror, or use a single sconce beside your bed. The light is warm and even, soft against plaster.

Plug-in or hardwire?
Plug-in ships with a cord and on/off switch, so you can hang it yourself without an electrician. Hardwire connects directly for a cleaner, cord-free look — but you'll need an electrician or some comfort with wiring. The mount itself is identical either way.
What bulb does it take?
A G9 LED — the small two-pin base. G9 bulbs are widely available and produce a warm, compact glow that suits the round glass globe.
Where does a 3.5-inch sconce fit best?
Hallways, small bedrooms, and pairs flanking a bathroom mirror. The compact proportions suit spots where a standard sconce would feel oversized — this is the sconce you buy when you thought your wall was too small for one.
Can I get a custom glaze?
Yes — Misewell takes custom glaze requests if none of the four standard colours (Black, Speckle, White Matte, Vermilion) work for your space. Expect a longer lead time on custom orders.
Is the mount really flush?
Yes — the mounting plate sits tight against the wall with no exposed hardware. The sconce reads as one clean shape rather than a fixture bolted onto something.
In-stock orders are packed and shipped within 5–7 business days (excluding holidays). Shipping is via UPS within the continental United States — we do not offer international shipping or in-store pickup at this time.
Shipping is calculated live at checkout based on size, weight, and destination. Every order is fully insured in transit.
Made-to-order and pre-order pieces carry their own lead times, noted on the product page. Please note lead times do not include transit. Delays due to carrier volume or weather are outside our control.
Read the full shipping policy.
We accept returns within 30 days of delivery for a full refund to the original form of payment. Items must be unused, in original packaging, and in resalable condition.
High-ticket pieces may be subject to a 5% restocking fee to cover re-inspection and careful repackaging. If a restocking fee applies to your item, we'll let you know before your return is processed.
Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable unless the item arrived damaged, defective, or incorrect. Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer in all other cases; returns that arrive with postage due will be returned to sender.
