The Portico Chrome is a minimalist hanging planter with a polished chrome finish and integrated drainage. It's made from premium stoneware.
The chrome finish sets this variant apart from the standard Portico range. The polished surface catches light differently through the day. It shifts how the plant above it reads. The silhouette is identical to the standard Portico: clean cylinder, built-in drainage, sized for a single plant.
Each Portico Chrome by Misewell is made by hand in the Milwaukee studio using premium stoneware ceramic. It measures 6 inches in diameter and 7.5 inches high. Slight variations in glaze, form, and texture are part of the handmade process. Hanging instructions are included.
The chrome finish suits modern rooms with reflective accents — polished steel fixtures, glass, mirrored surfaces. Hang one where it can do the work of both a planter and a metallic highlight.

Is it actually metal or ceramic?
Premium stoneware ceramic with a chrome finish applied during firing — so you're getting the weight and thermal stability of ceramic with a metallic exterior. Not spray-painted metal, not a metal planter.
How is it different from the standard Portico?
Same shape, same drainage, same construction — the chrome finish is the only difference. If you want the standard eight-glaze range, look at the regular Portico instead.
Where does the chrome finish work best?
Rooms with reflective accents — polished steel fixtures, glass, mirrored surfaces. The chrome catches light differently through the day, shifting how the plant above it reads. Reads modern and metallic rather than neutral.
Will the chrome finish wear off?
No — the chrome is fired into the ceramic glaze rather than painted on top. Slight variations in glaze, form, and texture are part of the handmade process and don't indicate wear.
What plants work in it?
Trailers — pothos, string-of-hearts, spider plants. The chrome finish reads best with plants that contrast against metal (soft greens, silver-tinted foliage), rather than variegated colours that compete visually.
In-stock orders are packed and shipped within 5–7 business days (excluding holidays). Shipping is via UPS within the continental United States — we do not offer international shipping or in-store pickup at this time.
Shipping is complimentary on orders over $150. Below that threshold, live rates are calculated at checkout based on size, weight, and destination.
Made-to-order and pre-order pieces carry their own lead times, noted on the product page. Please note lead times do not include transit. Delays due to carrier volume or weather are outside our control.
